Press Welded Grating

Press welded gratings are produced from steel. The bearing bars (I-Bar or Flat Bar) and the twisted square cross bars are cut to grating size before the cross bars are locked into the bearing bars at a pressure of 1000 kN and – simultaneously – electrically welded at 2500 KVA. Into one unit.

In combination with welded cross bars, non-attenuated bearing bars make for high torsion rigidity.

Press welded gratings are banded with flat bars which, as a rule, will have the same cross section as the bearing bars.

One special form of press welded grating is offshore grating (O-SP-SS), details of which you will find on special forms of gratings. Due to the way the bearing bars are profiled, press welded gratings have a much enhanced anti-skid capability. Please see (anti-skid gratings).

  • Flat Bar Grating
    Press Welded Flat Bar Grating

Made of Flat Bar as bearing bar and square twisted bar as bearing bar, Flat Bar gratings are produced by press welded and banded with flat bar usually or per customers request, such as angle.

Maximum transverse (cross) bar length 1025mm, depends on transverse bar pitch.

    Maximum bearing bar length 6000mm

    Usual mesh spacing
    Bearing Bar: 12.5, 30, 40, 60, 90
    Cross Bar: 30, 40, 50, 60, 100

    Bearing Bar
    20×3 to 40×3
    25×4 to 60×4
    25×5 to 60×5

    Cross Bar
Twisted bar 6mm or round bar 5mm dia.

  • I-Bar Grating
    Press Welded I-Bar Grating

I Bar Press Welded grating is a type of press welded grating made of I Bar as bearing bar and square twisted bar as cross bar. As well, I-Bar Gratigs are banded with Flat Bar or at customers’ selection with Angle.

I-Bar grating is visually stronger and comparatively lighter than Flat bar grating if bearing bars at the same clear pitcch.

    Maximum transverse (cross) bar length
1025mm, depends on transverse bar pitch.

    25x5x3 50x7x4
    32x5x3 55x7x4
    38x5x3 60x7x4
